Bird watching is by itself  worth the trip in the entire   San Juan River area...

The entire area  is a wetland of international importance under the RAMSAR convention over 60 species of birds have been reported in the studies of this area. Thousands of birds are  around our fishing spots, in Solentiname Archipelago, San Juan River,  Medio Quesso,  Wild life reserve of Los Guatousso and Cano Negro... We are lucky enough to enjoy some specific moments for Example when we reach the Solentiname Islands at Sun Rise... Incredible!!! I have been told than NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC went several time there  I understand why...  And how could I forget  this morning when with Paul, Yves And Augusto we enjoy top fishing but also the show of  Thousands of Cormorants  feeding on San Juan River ...was incredible they were all around the boat also the Tarpon  feeding on the same small sardines    Some of the Birds around: Amazon Kingfisher, American Kestrel , Anhinga, American Widgeon, Bare-Throated Tiger-Heron, Black-bellied, Black-Shouldered Kite, Black Vultures , Blue-winged Teal,  ducks, Black-necked Stilt,  Cattle Egret,  Crested Caracara, "Garzas", Glossy Ibis, Great Egret, Green Backed Heron, Herons, Laughing Falcon, Little Blue Heron, Mangrove Swallow, Nicaraguan Grackle, Olivaceous Cormorant, Osprey ,Parrots,  Pink flamingo, Northern Shoveler,  Ringed Kingfisher, Snail Kite, Roadside Hawk,  Spotted Sandpiper, Turkey Vultures, Whistling-Duck, White Ibis, Wood Stork... Obviously Bird Watching is "include" ( all around ) our Fishing trip... I  organize some SPECIAL BIRD WATCHING TRIPS from my lodge... Property is 20 acres at the corner of Nicaragua Lake and Rio San Juan. It is in wild life Reserve of Los Guatousso. From Lodge we will go  in Solentiname, Medio Quesso, Los Guatousso....
