Report #22 December 2001
We had a very busy month of December..receiving several groups in Nicaragua: Georges and Jean from Florida, Jerry also from USA but resident in Costa Rica, and for the fifth time our friend Paul from Florida... We also had some Short trips in Rio Frio , Cano Negro in Costa Rica .. ( Day Charter )
Fishing has been good , specifically for tarpon in the San Juan River area Medio quesso, Santa fe, size of tarpon has been a bit smaller than usual, around 100lb... the bigest around 150lb I report the usual 5 to 10 tarpon hit per day all guest did have at least one Tarpon to the boat. . Concerning Rainbow bass fishing has been great in the Solentiname Archipelago as we did discover new incredible spots , we had several fish around 9lb and did even breack line on bigger fish.. The IGFA All Tackle World Record ( beaten last year in Nicaragua ) has been for long of 9lb... so I think we did well ...
I also like to report some fishing days with my two son in Rio Frio where they did caught many Machacas among them four fish over over 8lb , the bigest 8.2 pound . The World Record is 9lb 8 oz, so not to bad as my son Alex and Alain are 7 and 6 years old...on these days they also had many gars ..on floating line, very funny , I hope this year Alex will catch his first Tarpon ..so far they all have been to big for him and he gave up... we want for him a 50 or 60lb but this is dificult..fish are always much bigger.
We will be very busy in this month of January with guest s coming from Texas, California , Baltimore and France ..but I have many opening from February, specifically as I will have an additional boat in service...
I remind everybody than we receive our Guests in Managua ( Nicaragua ) or San Jose ( Costa Rica ) in both case we wait for you at the Airport. Then we have transfert organise to our fishing area located in the jungles of San juan River , Solentinames island, Rio Frio , Cano Negro
