The 2009 Tournament will be held on the 13th and 14th of September.
This will permit people to enjoy the awards ceremony and fiesta on the evening of the 14th and have the holiday day of September to leisurely return home in Nicaragua, Costa Rica or connect their International flight.
The contest covers both the Solentiname Islands guapote fishing, and Rio San Juan till el Castillo fishing for tarpon, snook, machaca and drum. Fishing also alowed in Nicaragua Lake.
Tournament registration costs $30 and inscription will be at the new San Carlos Pier starting on the 12th, and includes little gifts like a T shirt and gives one a number for the raffle of prizes at the awards ceremony, and participation in the awards evening dinner.
Legal fishing hours are from 5am to 6pm on both days. Official weigh stations are at Solintiname, San Carlos, Montecristo El Castillo... This year there may be an additional weigh station at Saballo
Fish may be taken by trolling or casting. During the tournament an exception is made to the no-kill rule for tarpon and the top three are brought it to get their exact weight; bit absolutely no tarpon under 60 pounds may be killed. ( The meat of the top three fish will be donated to the Hospital or the Army or the poor.) It is expected that the top tarpon will weigh between 140 and 200 pounds.
Trophies will be awarded for largest fish of each variety and the total accumulated weight of each species, which includes 1) Tarpon 2) Snook 3) Wapote ( Lagunero / Rainbow bass ) 4) Drum. Lotery Prizes ( Among all registered angler in Tournament ) last year included quality fishing rods and cell phones, in the past an outboard motor was awarded – let’s see what the big prizes are this year.

13th of Setember Fishing Day #1 Opening at 5 am Closing at 6 pm
14th Fishing Day #2 Opening at 5 am Closing at 6 pm at Night Prizing, Lotery, Dining with Entertainment

INFORMACIONES EN ESPANOL Se confirmo la fecha del 13 y 14 de Setiembre por el Torneo 2009
Assi LOS PARTICIPANTES puede disfrutar de la fiesta en el 14 a la noche y tiene el 15 Feriado por regressar tranquilamente a su casa en Nicaragua, Costa Rica o otro pais de origen. La pesca es en Rio San Juan hasta el Rodal del Castillo, en el Lago de Nicaragua incluyendo el Archipelago de Solentiname.
Reglamento basico del Torneo... ( Puede haber pequenos Cambios el Comite esta Trabajando sobre este....) Inscription en el nuevo Malecon de San Carlos Costo de la Inscripcion cordoba 600 = $30 Incluido varios Regalos como camisetta etc... Y la participacion en la cena de clotura. Se puede inscribir en el 12 Durante todo el Dia por fin de arancar muy temprano el Dia Siguiente... Sigue Possible la Inscripcion en el 13
PROGRAMA
12 de Setiembre INSCRIPTION en el Kiosko del Comite en el Nuevo Malecon de San Carlos ( Frente a Muelle Flotante.) FIESTA ESPECIAL de la 1 pm hasta la noche en La Esquina del Lago Jungle River Lodge En frente San Carlos Bocana de Rio Frio. Fiesta Gratis por los Participantes en el Torneo, su familia, amigos... Comida, Bevida, Musica y Sorpresas... 13 de Setiembre Dia de pesca 1 . Abiertura Pesca 5am , Closura 6pm .
14 de Setiembre Dia de pesca 2 . Abiertura Pesca 5am , Closura 6pm .
NOTAS Puesto de pesa en Solentiname, San Carlos, Monte cristo o, Saballo. Clotura y Premiacion en San Carlos.
La pesca puede ser TROLLING o CASTING
En los dias del Torneo se puede Excepcionalmente matar los Sabalo por le traer a la pesa ( Los peces estan regalado al Hospital, o Ejercito, o etc ) pero cuidado califican unicamente los Sabalo de mas de 60lb.NON SE DEBE TRAER A LA PESA SABALO DE MENOR PESO.
Se puede estimar que el sabalo Ganador sera entre 140lb y 200lb Premios unicamente Trofeos en la 4 Categorias Tarpon, Snook, Lagunero, Roncador 1r lugar 2d Lugar 3rd lugar Peso acumulado Tambien hay Premios de valor... En el ano pasado estaban Canas de pescar de alta calidad...Celular etc etc.. Anteriormente motor de barco... Por mantener el Espiritud de la Pesca Deportiva estos premios se ganan en una Rifa entre todo los participantes ( Con el numero de Inscripcion.) en el transcursos de la Cena de Clotura o en la Tarima del Nuevo Malecon de San Carlos .)

PRACTICAL INFORMATIONS If you come from Costa rica
1) Since three month there is NO VISA charge for costarican entering in Nicaragua ( Use to be $25 ) Other National pay a total of $9 for entering and go out of Nicaragua.
2) There is a safe place to leaves your car in Los Chiles. Located close to Imigration building (Guard, Fences Parking )
3) COME WITH YOUR OWN BOAT On these Special Days You are welcome to come with your own boat. there will be no cost to enter Nicaragua ...NO CHARGES ON THESE DAYS AND NO CHECK OF BOAT REGISTRATION.... There is a decent Split in Los Chiles..You will then enter Nicaragua via Rio Frio . (30 Minutes)

INFORMACIONES ADITIONALES Si viene desde Costa Rica
1) Desde tres meses la Entrada a Nicaragua es sin visa por los Costaricenses ( No hay que pagar $25 como antes). Los otros Estrangeros pagan un Total de $ 9 ( Entrada y Salida )
2) Hay un lugar seguro en Los Chiles por su carro. El lugar es Cerado, con guardia y es ubucado cerca de la oficina de la Migracion.
3) Trae su Lancha ... En este dia No se cobra Derecho de navegacion y de entrada a Nicaragua Entrada libre y Gratuita sin control de los documentos de la lancha. La entrada es en Los chiles donde hay un lugar por poner los barcos al agua Despues se naviga Rio Abajo hasta San Carlos... (30 Minutos)
